Our team

Our team is led by founders of Modular Ummah, and supported by dedicated, professional Muslim contributors from diverse fields. Each team member brings expertise in community development, mental wellbeing, grassroots organising, and Islamic counselling. Together, we are committed to creating safe, values-driven spaces and providing institutions with the tools, talent, and frameworks to serve effectively and sustainably.

We are continuously growing and look forward to welcoming more skilled partners to expand our impact, bringing additional perspectives and professional insight to Silsilah Connect.

Munim Chowdhury

Founder & Strategic Director, Modular Ummah

I lead the vision and framework design for values-driven community infrastructure. Through Silsilah Connect, I coordinate a network of expert contributors to ensure strategic alignment, ethical clarity, and meaningful impact.

My experience spans community grassroots work, volunteerism, leadership roles in institutions, and Islamic counselling settings. I am passionate about supporting people and organisations to serve purposefully without burnout.

Shumi Ullah

Co-founder & Outreach Engagement Lead, Modular Ummah

I focus on building trust, listening deeply, and shaping our work around the people it’s meant to serve. My experience includes mental health, grassroots organising, women’s leadership, volunteerism, and therapeutic counselling.

I ensure our frameworks remain connected to lived experiences so that no one is left behind and every voice is valued.
